Are they necessary?
Many dental problems don't start with any symptoms.
Some people may not realise this and suffer unnecessarily.
A few important examples are:
- Chronic gum disease - can result in premature tooth loss.
- Dental decay - can cause severe pain, abscesses and tooth loss.
- Dental cysts - can predispose to infection and jaw fracture.
- Oral cancer - can have a serious or fatal outcome if diagnosed late.
Regular check-ups will ensure an early diagnosis and therefore avoid some of these conditions.
A preventive approach to your dental health will reduce your need for treatment, can save you time, expense and unnecessary suffering.
